Sprinter oil change

I'm getting ready to change the oil on my Sprinter, last time I did was 2016 and it's ready for one. Just wondering last time I checked the proper oil listed was Mobile 1 0W30. Is this still correct? or have they changed things again? Thanks and Happy Traveling.

Here's a link to the thread that followed the last time you asked this question:
new oil specs
My response then included a link to the Mercedes approved lubricants web site, and here it is again:
MB 229.51 - Low SPAsh multigrade service engine oils (Specification 229.51) - Mercedes-Benz Specifications for Operating Fluids
You need to know which spec(s) are acceptable for your specific engine...

I had the sprinter oil change at the dealer in Feb
The used Mercedes label oil
MB Genuine oil 5-30 MB 229.52
Only $6 quart at the dealer. Interesting that they are not using the 0-30 oil, not sure if that means they think there will be problems . Mercedes oil is cheaper than the Mobil.
May be able to get online or amazon if you are not near a dealer.

According to MB Sheet 223.2, MB approved 229.52 is the latest current spec. Here is a link to the Sheet. You will see the approved specs for the sprinter diesel eng. with DPF.

Well, that chart isn't the most straightforward thing that I've seen, but, if I'm reading it right, it says that Sprinter oils can meet any one of four specs:
228.51, 229.31, 229.51, 229.52
It also recommends (in the footnotes) that viscosity be limited to one of the following:
0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30, 5W-40
But I don't have great confidence that I've gleaned the proper info from the chart!

Dave, that is also how I read the chart. Any of the four specs are fine, but I go with the latest. I still get it from NAPA when they run the sales.

BTW, Advance auto parts carry the Mann oil filter. They also carry Pureilator and Carquest filters. Mann is the least expensive. If you take them out of the boxes and place them side by side, they are identical.

Forgot to mention that all of the three are made in Germany.
