Well, I had read about those latches sticking, so, when we first got our 2017 2400W, I treated all the locks and latches with silicon spray lube, and all have performed flawlessly.
Give the offending lock a good blast of any kind of lube... I prefer the silicone as it is dry and not so messy. Then push in and away from the opening, turn the key as far as possible, and (hopefully), open.

This experience is a warning! Treat all the locks and corresponding inside latches the same way. Donít forget the propane tank lid. I did, and had a scare trying to open it at a filling station. The good thing about those latches is that they are easy to get to, as that compartment is open on the bottom.

Good luck!

Bob I had done the same treatment to mine after reading the scare message. Still won’t work. Now to find a replacement one before I bugger this one up.

After getting door opened with a long spatula I found that a nylon cover on an Allen wrench piece had fallen off disabling the unlock feature. Fairly simple lock mechanism. It is made by Challenger and Forest river part number, if needed, is 20x34736a. I will post a pic soon as I figure that process out.

Yeah, keep us posted. Did you use the spatula like a giant credit card to get it open? Perhaps I should get a couple of spare latches ďjust in caseĒ.

Yes I shoved the spatula up and let it push the catch up and it opened. I then took it apart and found the nylon bushing had come off the lock lever. Reinstalled sprayed o on and reinstalled. Works great. I did check on part through local RV dealer and with shipping it was almost $60.00. Not sure I will carry a spare but at least a spatula.
