Sunseeker 2400w for a family of 4?
We are looking at buying a 2016 2400W. We would like our boys to be able to hang out in the bed area while the slide is in. Is there any space for that? Or a way to secure one mattress half up and make a couch? I'd appreciate any ideas you've got!

If you are thinking of a space for the children while you are driving, they should be in the dinette seat with the provided safety belts buckling them securely in place. The table will provide them an activity area.

How old are the boys and are there seat belts in the area you want them to hang out in (if you mean going down the road. )

They are 8 and 11. The bed area is where I’m thinking for when we are parked. They play ice hockey on different teams in the same league. I’m imagining that we will be in the parking lot of the rinks for most of a day and occasionally overnight.

I agree. I’m thinking while we are in a parking lot.

I would check the Cargo Carrying Capacity on the 2400W. We have a similar unit 2400R and are very close to the CCC when traveling with just the two of us and a very small dog.
Two hockey players and all of their gear might make it difficult to stay within the capacity of the unit.
We love our MBS unit but are always concerned about the stuff we are carrying especially if one of the grandkids travels with us

It is not just your stuff. It is YOU, your family, all of your stuff and water in the tanks.

Thank you!
I appreciate the feedback. It seems this is not the rv for us. This is a sprinter forum, but do you have any recommendations for a coach that would fit our needs better?

I suggest you look into the larger Sunseekers. They will be gas, but have way more room for 4 people.

If you want diesel, Dynamax Isata 5, otherwise the dynamax Isata 4 has a similar floor plan as the 2400w but on a heavier rated chassis.

We have a 2400W and often go with 2 grandsons and a large German Shepherd. I wouldn't worry about a couple of kids and their hockey bags. If you are tow a small trailer behind. We tow a Honda CRV with no problems.

Have you ever weighed fully loaded at a CAT scale? Are you over the GCWR of 15250?

Have talked several MBS owners who like forum members can be at extremes on several RV issues. Some weigh individual items and some throw in every possible item. None seem to have any issues. I try to be moderate. Like I said if in doubt tow a trailer.

What's the OCCC on the 2400? My Prism 24G is 1656 pounds. With full fuel, 1/4 water, full propane and some basics like food/dishes/beer/clothes, I am about 300 pounds under GVWR. With the toad, I am about 1000 under GCWR and 100 or so under GVWR.

I don't have a motor home but a 22 foot travel trailer. It supposed to sleep 4, but two of those four had better be small!
It's just right for 2 adults and a small dog.
