If you've installed a TPMS please let me know what model you have and if it has any pros/cons.

I bought the Truck System Technologies model #TM-507SG and its a piece of garbage. Made it about 200 miles down the road and two of the sensors started leaking air! (2psi/10miles). So four stops later I'm at the tire shop kinda hoping I picked up a nail or something, but nope, it was the stupid TPMS I paid $385 for!

Anyways, I still want the ease of mind knowing the tire pressure is safe when going 70mph, so I want to replace this one. Any suggestions?

TST 507 with the flow thru sensor on all our coach and toad tires. Been using a TST 507 now for over 5 years with zip problems.

My guess is you did not tighten the sensor on to the valve stem. Don't ask me how I know this

Finally, give TST a call - they have really GOOD customer service and back their product 100% If you happen to have a defective sensor (hard to believe 2 are defective) they will replace them for you.


RE: 70MPH. You do know that no trailer tire is rated for over 65MPH? When we pulled a 5th wheel, we kept the speed to 63MPH or lower.

I have the TST 507RV (non-flow through sensors) and it works flawlessly.

TST 507 Flow through. Only problem dropped sensor. Bought signal extender and it fixed the problem. Works great now.

X2 with great customer service with the TST 507 RV. I have the flow thru and no problems so far. Like mentioned it may be just a thing of tightening the sensor. in any case give them a call they will help you out

If you have rubber valve stems, you cannot use the flow thru sensors - you will not get a good seal. I made the same mistake, called TST and they exchanged them for me.

We use the TST 507RV system. Have had only one problem with one of the sensors going bad.

We were traveling out of state at the time. Called TST customer service and they helped me determine that the sensor had gone bad. They shipped me a new sensor to the campground where we were staying and included a label for me to return the bad sensor.

All has been good since. Sorry for your problem, but you should definitely give them a call.

TST 507RV here as well. Never had an air leak and the system works great after three summers and many thousands of miles towing.

X's 2 it is the best system out on the market, and great customer service. If you are using rubber stems that could be the problem, to much flex, If you installed metal bolt in then either it wasn't tight enough or just two bad sensors. I had one leak the seal on the brass part split, they replaced it. got it over night, can't beat that...

I read a lot of TST users. I have to be different. I purchased the DILL TPMS from discount tire. No issues and I like that the sensors are installed inside the tire,no temptation of removal.

Also had Discount Tire install Dills plus added the repeater/extender for the TT. Works flawlessly.

Curious about this. I have my flow through's on rubber stems (very short) and have had no pressure loss at all. I don't recall reading in the directions where you could not use these sensors on rubber valve stems. Could you expand on this? Did TST give you this information? Thanks.

TST preferred if you install them on bolt in stems, but they also said that if your rubber valve stem is only 1and 1/4 " that they will still work, I didn't change my rubber valve stems out until I bought new tires. why pay an extra 10 to 20.00 dollars a tire just to put metal stems in. But they do specify only on 1-1/4" inch max. anything longer could flex the stem and cause a leak. The flow through weigh a hair more but are longer, you can see where the centrifugal force maked my rim. That was before I installed the bolt in metal stems when I bought new tires....

I have been using the Tire-Safeguard TPMS for nearly 2 years. I installed them after having two blow outs during a 1000 mile trip to Florida. These tires were only 27 months old and I want to make sure I mention they were CHINESE!

Since I had a truck with 4 tires (not 6) and trailer with 4 tires I had to return it for reprogramming. This was inexpensive and they returned the unit quickly. It cannot be reconfigured by the user.

After about 4 weeks and maybe 1500 miles, one valve stem split on the truck followed by another 6 weeks or so later. I had high pressure stems and had previously had no issues with the valve stems.

I concluded the weight of the stem mounted sensor with centrifugal force was enough to cause the valve stems to fail. I tried without success to find a full metal stem for the alloy truck rims, but none we tried would fit. So, I removed the sensors from the valve stems on the truck and I have had no further valve stem failures.

I still have the sensors on the trailer wheels and so far I have not had a valve stem failure on the trailer. I assume it may be due to the fact they are recessed into the rim. When centrifugal force causes the valve stem to bend, it is reinforced by the edges of the indention where the stem is mounted. I still worry about valve stem failure on the trailer. I am not going to put the sensors back on the truck wheels but for now I think the benefit outweighs the risk on the trailer.


1- I have to remove the devices from the valve stem to add air to the tires. That adds a few minutes to the job.

2- The sensors appear to be within +/- 1 PSI of my gauge.

3- The temperature is not very accurate but it gives you a number so you can tell if the temp is increasing beyond normal.

4- I've been using the sensors on the trailer for almost 2 years and I have never replaced a battery in the sensors or the dash mounted LCD monitor.

5- When the truck is within 80' of the trailer, the LCD monitor will begin picking up the pressure and temperature from the sensors on the trailer. So the transmitters in the sensors and the receiver on the LCD monitor are more than adequate.

6- The battery in the LCD monitor is lithium and is charged by a USB jack on the back. It will run for days without charging.

7- The LCD monitor comes with an adhesive adjustable mount which I've used on my 2500HD, then pulled it off and stuck it on my F250.

8- The alarm is so weak I can't hear it. So, I have to continuously scan the LCD screen to see if the green LED transitioned to red. But then I don't hear that well.


My advice is to spend a little more and get the sensors that mount inside the wheel. Avoid the ones that mount on the end of the valve stem like mine. I am probably going to invest in new 'inside the wheel' sensors when I get ready to swap out these trailer and truck tires next year.

Ok, thanks. My valve stems are very short, an inch or less. They don't flex at all. The sensors can't cause the stems to flex because of how they sit inside the rim. I was curious about not being able to get a seal. Thanks again for the info.

I have the TST system and I found them to be very responsive. I have a MBZ Sprinter Solera and the dealer had a problem with the front wheel valve stems. TST sent out new/different stems and they solved the pressure.

The install and pressure balancing was done over a year ago, the pressures were checked before each trip and did not lose pressure over 5 or 6 trips and although I haven't checked pressure over the winter (live at 5000 ft in AZ and we had a cold winter) the tires appear to be OK. I have driven it back and forth between my storage yard and home and to the dealer twice to get some warranty work and it drives fine at 65MPH for 20 or so miles.

I feel more comfortable when I take long trips monitoring the pressures!

It has to be something minor like a bad o-ring or not tight enough.

I have the TST 507 non-flow thru and they work fine. I went with the non-flow thru because they are little shorter and do not stick out past the tire.

I used rubber stems for a few thousand miles until I upgraded to metal ones.

Besides the low air warning alerts when going down the road I like the fact I turn the system on and see if any tires are low just by checking the monitor, I no longer have to go around to each tire with a tire gauge.

TST-507 ... had some trouble installing them (didn't read the directions - go figure) a few leaked ... used soapy water in a sprayer, tightened until no more bubbles - Viola' no more leaks! ... Snugged allen screws down gingerly ... 1500 mile trip, no issues, just peace of mind. Great system!

Curious. Did you use the supplied wrench thingy to set the sensors? It might appear to be installed correctly withou using the wrench but they probably will leak.

I can't find any info about a model TM-507SG. I thought the only models were 507 and 510 (the 510 has the user non-replaceable batteries).
