We currently tow a 2015 Honda Fit behind our MBS motorhome. I know the capacity of the receiver and the maximum all-up weight for the MH plus what is being towed - but I'm trying to determine the heaviest vehicle/trailer anyone is towing behind their MBS chassis.

We are planning a trip to Alaska, probably next year and I'm not convinced the Fit is the best vehicle for the Alaska highway. We drove the highway two years ago in our son's 4X4 Tacoma from near Whitehorse to Alberta and there were no issues. However, we would like to go all the way to Fairbanks and I understand the road up past Whitehorse is not in the best shape.

I have a 1992 4Runner that could be towed easily, but I think it would be a struggle for the MBS chassis, especially in the Rockies.

So what are you towing and how does the MBS do in the mountains?

Easy to tow, goes anywhere
We got soft top since already have plenty of hard tops in the stable, plus nothing like going thru the national parks with the top down . We removed rear seat so our 2 yellow labs can come along on our jeeping adventures.

We tow a Honda CRV behind our MBS without any issues. We are going to Alaska in summer 2017 and have decided not to tow. We may rent a car for a week to do some touring.

Those of you that tow with your MBS, I assume you have gotten your rig weighed. On our last trip to the beach I decided to stop and get weighed. I was shocked to find I was 420# over my GVWR and I was towing NOTHING! I know I did not have 420# worth of provisions on board so I don't know how it would be even possible for me to tow a thing. Could the CAT scale have been wrong?

I'm not sure how accurate the CAT scales are at the weights of our RV's. If say, they have a tolerance of +/- 5%, they could be 550 pounds off at MBS gross weight. I haven't been able to find much info on CAT scale accuracy.

We tow our Fit four-down, so the only weight we have added is the 50 pounds or so from the Blue Ox tow bar and hitch riser. None of the car weight is additive to the motorhome. We are using the Fit as a storage vehicle and trying to get more weight out of the MBS.

The yellow sticker on the drivers side door frame will indicate your Cargo Carrying Capacity. Ours is only 925 pounds - which is pretty meager.
