Based on a couple of things I've seen here, I believe that the recall only involves units with the Curt controller. I also believe the older units were built using a custom (semi-custom?) FR approach to wiring. FR found that warranty issues were a problem with their in-house solution, so they went to the Curt controller for an off-the-shelf approach...and look what that got them!
Bottom line - older units don't have the Curt controller and therefore aren't involved in the recall.
Dave
PS - this is based on bits I've picked up and may be completely wrong!

Isn't a curt controller a trailer brake controller?

I am to the point of retaining a lawyer. If a person needs to fix with an alternate fix while still under warranty, let alone within a recall, then something is major wrong because this is a safety issue. No one is willing to work on this because of the liability and an after market fix could void warranty or in the event of a safety related accident , this could nulify a lawsuit against FR and MB. FR has stopped talking to me so I assume their lawyers are already preparing.

Once lawyers get involved or mentioned that is usually the end of anything .. Including this thread for the most part.

Thanks for hijacking my thread. It took a turn which was not intented..
I for my part am satisfied and happy with the customer support I received from FR and their Representatives here on that forum, thank you!
My question for help was a rant against the dealer who btw still did not respond.....
I would like if a moderator here could delete the whole thread, please!

I'm suprised more people aren't seeking compensation or a loner.

I have a 2012 Solera with exactly the same problem. Can you tell me where to locate the controller?

I'm not sure your unit is based on the curt controller.

First...I'm not sure.
Second...as someone mentioned, it's not clear that you have the same Curt controller. From what I've seen, I'm guessing that Soleras older than about 2014 do NOT have a Curt controller - they have an earlier "in house" solution put together by Forest River.
Third...for those units with Curt controllers...I think all (most?) of them were mounted under the RV in front of the rear bumper. The controllers and additional components were mounted on an aluminum plate. In my case (a 2015 24R), the plate was mounted up between the outside of the rear formed fiberglass compartment and the actual rear skin of the RV.
Hope that helps!
Dave

On my 2012, I believe the controller is behind a panel in the utility compartment - above the sewer connection. Believe it is a FR proprietary board, not a Curt. I understand the FR proprietary board is actually just a relay matrix. There are fuses in the circuit.
Depending on your specific symptoms, you may be able to replace a fuse, replace a relay on the board, bypass a defective relay with a parallel relay, or potentially replace the proprietary board (with a replacement from FR? Or maybe with a Curt - would require rewiring, I suspect).
As an emergency counter measure, someone on the forum came up with a great suggestion. Apparently the most frequent failure of the proprietary board is the running lights. He determined that using a trailer (toad) plug and connecting the power lead to the running light lead (with a fuse) on the plug would supply power to the running lights, bypassing a defective relay on the proprietary board. It is necessary, as I understand from his posts, to unplug the trailer plug to turn off the running lights.
