Water Pump
The OEM water pump in my 2015 Solera is a Surflo model 4008-101-A65. The pump works ok, I guess, but doesn't deliver much pressure or volume. Has anyone replaced the OEM pump? What did you replace it with? Did it improve water flow or pressure?
Thanks!
Dave

Have you checked the small filter on the pump? Not the big canister filter, but the mesh screen in line at the pump itself.

I haven't ... but I will. I don't really think the pump has degraded - I'm just getting around to thinking about doing something about it.

Is it both your sinks and your shower that seem to have low flow? If it's just the shower, be aware that most/many of them have a flow restrictor in them. Unscrew the shower hose from the faucet and see if you have a small disk with a hole in the middle. If so, you can either remove it or drill the hole bigger.

I replaced my OEM shower head with flexible chrome plated hose and Delta hand-held shower head because the OEM was leaking at the head and couldn't be replaced without replacing the hose. This $30 fix is a great improvement to OEM setup.
Flow is acceptable at the shower but I'd like to have more at faucets and a quieter pump. I plan to upgrade the pump once I figure out where it's located.

I would like to know what you change. I just want a quieter pump. Noise is annoying. Especially in the middle of the night.

If the pump comes on "by itself" in the night you have a leak, tubing , joint or internal check valve from debris.
I would set the city water pressure regulator to about 30PSI, then compare the flow with the DC pump.
They should be similar .

Let us know what you end up doing... Sureflow is the brand, I am pretty sure, and they are the most common brand out there. I not sure that quieter is an option. I have read that sometimes they get loose, and thus are more noisy. Also, you can add a small pressure tank (1 Gallon, I think). This will make the flow a little more regular, and the pump will not go on so much, just run longer when it does. I bought one, but haven't figured out where to put it on my W.

We turn our pump off at night even tho I always have to go at least once a night.
Your pump may have an adjustable pressure switch. Mine does. I turned it up with the correct metric allen wrench.

I replaced mine with an Aquajet 55AQUAJET-AES pump when the original failed.
It's a variable speed pump that does help with noise at low flow, but still noisier than I would like.
Flow and pressure are very good and there is a larger pump if you really want to increase flow. But keep in mind your limited storage!
Specs are available here:

Take a look at this pump! I believe you'll find it a major noise reduction pump compared to the OEM unit.

I haven't changed anything but the shower hose and replaced the original faucet with the same one new 'cause I cross-threaded the hose and ruined the plastic threads on the connection.
I'm looking for higher pressure and, most importantly, quieter pumps hoping to replace over the off-season.

This was a great urology discussion.
How about just flushing the toilet in the morning? Problem solved.

I'll just compromise with her: I will install a quieter water pump if she'll stop peeing in the shower.😊

Have you told her she's turning your grey tank into a black tank? LOL
