Where / How to Mount Satellite Receiver?
I've just acquired a portable satellite antenna and a Dish "Wally" receiver for my Solera. The obvious place to put the receiver is in the cabinet over the main door, with the various TV connections. But I'm looking for suggestions about how to mount it in there. The easiest solution would be to just leave it loose...but that offends my sense of order.
The receiver has a couple of wall-mount holes on it's bottom side, but, if the receiver is hung from the side wall of the RV (the back wall of that cabinet), all of the connections will be on the right side - away from the various existing connectors on the left side of the cabinet.
I could mount it upside-down (relative to the existing mounting holes) maybe using some of that 3M super-velcro stuff, but I worry that it would impair air flow (already a concern in a closed cabinet...) I could also mount it with the top of the receiver against the back wall of the cabinet - this would be "right side up" but there are vent holes that would now be blocked by that back wall.
One possible solution would be to mount it on the door of the cabinet - this would leave the receiver connections close to the existing RV connectors, the receiver would be "right side up" relative to the mounting holes on the back of the receiver, and the vent holes on the top of the receiver would be open to the air. But this might put strain on the cabinet door hinges and the wiring would be subject to occasional strain as the door was opened and closed.
Note that this receiver has an RF remote, so doesn't need IR line of sight.
All thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated!
Dave
