Dead battery

I don't understand why my battery continues to drain down. I turn the battery disconnect off and it still goes dead.

You will still have draw on battery, smoke detector, carbon monoxide etc. The only way to make sure is to remove a cable from battery or install another shut off directly on the battery cable.
On mine the front jacks will still work with battery switch off.
Also make sure that your booster is off for the Television, 12v draw also

Battery Disconnect

Gentlemen, Gentlemen:

There is a significant flaw in the RV Battery disconnect design. Apparently the customer base refuses (finds it too difficult) to reprogram radio stations into their radios between trips (I have no idea why as they will change as one travels to new locations). AND the RV industry is paranoid with Lawyers (detectors 100% powered), ....

To ensure 100% battery disconnect for storage and other personally desired events, I removed all (8) the battery direct connect wires and inline fuses and moved them to a dedicated bus fed from the powered side of the disconnect relay. I went from a static draw of 1.4 amps with the battery disconnected to ZERO! 1.4 seems small until one does the calculations. A typical house bank of 2 group 27s is 200AH. Even utilizing 100% (not realistic) of that, means that the battery bank uses 34AH EVERY SINGL DAY! In less than 6 days, your batteries will be at 10 Volts or less - spelled DEAD. Keep that up and they will be permanently Dead needing replacement.

By the way, I'm in the business, and I installed a battery monitor system (inexpensive) - 2 in fact, that is how I know with 100% accuracy the numbers. I ma going to post all of my mods an upgrades when I finish in a month or so. For now, here is a pic of the wires removed to the Covered insulated buss bar and some of the displays available on the battery monitor display - the 0.1 amp is because I turned on the display, the 94.9% and negative 10.8AH is after weeks of using the system (battery on) and RV between charge cycles.

Even with your batts removed and sitting on a kitchen table they will discharge .1/2% (new) to 3% per day just sitting.

So your batts will need to be charged when not in service regardless.

The easiest to live with is a good solar panel and charge controller.

A fine sunny day or two will take care of a couple of weeks of snow cover.

Nothing needs to be disconnected , you can roll anytime.

My battery disconnect from factory disconnects from everything. It's why I twist that knob. Radio, front jacks, all the LED switches. Two winters now it sits in storage and the battery is never drained.

Mine would do the same thing. I had to install my own battery disconnect switch. No more dead batteries even if it sits for a couple months.
