Lighting solutions for the Vengeance Garage

I got a Vengeance 31v but I am sure this pertains to any of the Vengeance models. In my garage I have the two jack sofas and a sleeper and when they are up the lightening is terrible.

Has anyone addressed this issue and come up with acceptable solutions for this?

I bought a little portable LED touch light but it is worthless. Would love to be able to get enough light to able to either work, eat, or play cards.

Toss out you solutions and ideas.

thanks

Man thanks for posting. We have the same set up in our garage( 320a) & you saved me some money, I was going to buy the same lights you did. Sorry I don't have a solution but Iam hopefully someone else will chime in with one.

I think I have it figured out. To add them just have to get creative with running the wires.

I may do a write up on it in the near future.

When the dinette is down for eating a meal or playing a card game to me there needs to be lights installed on the bottom of the top bunk. Which in our unit that would light that area up good.

Strip led lighting 12 volt, run through a remote controlled dimmer. Come in various lengths.

How about something like this: 12-Volt Universal Porch/Utility Light with Switch – White Base - Husky 51226 - Light Fixtures - Camping World

Or any of there surface mount lights, for a bit more you can even get LED.

For wiring, go to Home Depot or something similar and get the low voltage wire. I use that stuff for everything! You should be able to tap into the light that is there and run it out to where you can mount the light. And if the light you tap into is switched no problem, leave the switch off on the new light until you need it.

I home ran the wire to the switch and bought some surface mount to hide the wires. I bought two light fixtures. I did it all for around 65 bucks. I will have to take some pics.

Here is a link to the surface mount loom similar to this.

I mounted them at the center 65" that way it is out of your eyes if you are sitting at the table and when you lower the bed it is just above the bed.

I wished I would have done this a long time ago.

If you're close to 6 foot like me I am sure you have conked your head on the sofa braces more than once. If you notice in the pic you see I purchased some 3/4" pipe insulation. They have adhesive already on them so easy and cheap modification. Hopefully no more bumps on my head.

That gives me some ideas...
I have the 25v.
I'm just going to have to figure out where to tie into the 12v power.

The 25v doesn't have switches there.

I think he meant the switches on the lights.

We have a XLR but had the same problems and I solved the problem with 2 12 LED tape light strips mounted under the top bunk. I picked the p power and ground from the lift motor and just used the automotive plastic wire loom cover to run my wires to the switch and to the lights. Had to leave some loose for the top bunk to move up and down.Click image for larger version
