Basement Storage Ideas ??

I'm one of those people who thinks everything can be modified to make things better.

I found this on line and was wondering if anyone has done anything similar?

Sorry the pics are so small. I couldn't find a way to adjust the size.

This is the way I will go in a few months. The details were lost on the net, but the pictures left enough bread crumbs to figure this one out.

By installing the grooves on the side and some sort of track to the sides of the drawer should allow for it to pull ot 5 or 6' without flipping downward.

The casters will make it roll freely and take all of the weight.

That is just what I need. It seems no matter how well I organize, everything I need to use is now at the very back of the storage. Could you post a link for this. Thanks

I'm no handy enough to build that. I saw the elevated rear den Montana at an rv show and it has the same thing in a rear storage area that is all medal and slides out.

Forum member OldCoot makes these out of garage door tracks and rollers. He then makes a box for things to roll on. They’re quite elegant.

That's just cool. Since I'm totally inept at such things, I bought a MorRyde sliding tray. I wish I could build stuff.

Very cool. Funny this came up as I just measured my basements for slides this morning. http://tweetys.com/heavydutyslideassemblies.aspx

Good looking solution.

While I don't own a unit with basement storage, the pass through storage compartment offers a similar challenge. I ended up solving it for me by just buying some storage tote's are the largest that will fit through the access door. A piece of clothes line rope attached to each, along with a broom handle, lets me push them in as far as possible and when I need one out I just pull ropes Number the bins and what's in each listed on a sheet of paper attached to the inside of the access door.

I wish I had the room for roller mounted trays.

This is how I did mine: I ordered 500lb slides off of amazon, and then made my own pullout. Please excuse the messy organization, it was starting to rain and I just threw everything on. More organized now. If anyone would like a material list, just pm me

THAT is a messy organization?

You don't even own any stuff, man. Where's your stuff??? That's TOO organized. If you saw mine, you'd faint.

Basement Slides

We ordered two MorRyde slides, one for each side. Before installing we noticed how much room you lose on each side of the slide while using these. We returned them and and went with clear stackable totes.

think they were 48-50"? not real sure and rv is in storage. I just measured from the opening back to where I have a cove that contains the plumbing and ordered ones that went back to there. Make sure you get the full extention ones and locking.

ya on mine I lose an 1 1/2" on each side. I was willing to give that up for the ease of access. About 1/2” smaller than the actual door opening.

Finally Pulled it off

I finally had some time to pull this off. I'm extremely happy with the results.
