Otsego Moose Lodge 345, Otsego Michigan.
We have our own campground and pay $700 a year for a permanent seasonal spot, that includes the power and water. We all chip in and take care of the campground, $700 also includes leaving your camper in your spot all winter and storing it.

Wow, that sounds perfect! Nice to hear there are still places like that.

The one my parents are in (see post #2) they got into when it was still a Moose Lodge campground. The Lodge sold it a few years ago though.

seasonal camping

During the summer (June to September) we tow our RV to various sites. During the winter (from October 1 to May 31) we stay at an RV park close to home and treat the trailer like a cottage. We pay between $350-$400 CDN per month depending on which month it is. We also pay our own electric. There is an 8-month cap on our stay here which is why we tow to various other locations during the summer months. The campsite is getting fuller every winter as more snowbirds decide to stay in Canada.
camping 134 days and counting so far this year

Where in Michigan? Ask them if they ever came to Camp-o-rama in Otsego before.

The wife and I like the peace and quiet of northern PA. We have a permanent site at a campground with no pool, store or other amenties. Our yearly fee is $650.00. We have metered electric which costs no more than $100.00 a year. Water and sewer included in the yearly fee, and we store the unit on our site year round. There is no additional charge for the deer, bear and turkey we see.

We started being seasonals in 2008. The price at that time was $1700 in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Northeast PA. The price to renew for 2019 was now $2500 and every year the campground has gone downhill and offered less amenities. The location absolutely couldn't be beat but we are a young family and decided to downsize and start going different places. We may decide to be seasonal again one day.

4.5 hours? That's a bit of a jaunt.

We are only an hour away from our CG and some days that seems too far. Especially when we can't make it down there until Saturday afternoon because we have sports activities with our daughter.

It is, and we only get there 6-10 times a year. The drive is half the fun. Most of our family is in the area and we plan to move back "home" when we retire in a few years.

Ours was $1340 for 4 months at a lake in Northern MN in 2013. This year it’s $2120 for 4 months and no improvements since 2013.

I don’t know where you live the rest of the year, but we live in MN during the warmer months and I can tell you that our taxes here have skyrocketed over the last 5 years. We’re talking on the order of +20%. So some of that price increase could well be due to that.
We have relinquished our MN Residency as we only live there now for 5 months.

How much for seasonal site?

My wife and I as well as a few other people we know saw the writing on the wall and got out last year.

It should be interesting to see what happens in the next few years but I've never seen an mass exodus like the one I'm seeing now.

Our theory is that they've had a ton of flooding this past year and lost a lot of money from weekenders simply because half the CG was underwater for weeks at a time. So they are trying to make up for it by sticking it to the seasonals who they gave all of a 3 week warning about the $600 price increase.

Yes, I too packed up and left this park last year as the new owners ,Zeman Homes are full of greed and Way over priced for what they offer.
Now I see my old friends moving out as well.

This is the same with my campground. It was family-owned a few years ago, then was bought by Encore/Thousand Trails, then bought by Equity Lifestyle Properties. These may, somehow, all be the same company. I’m not sure.

Also, when they changed from family-owned to corporate-owned, they changed its description from “Campground” to “Resort” even though nothing changed which would even qualify it as a resort, in my opinion.

Which corporation bought your campground?

Bruce

What I did is that four years ago I bought two RV lots in park on Lake Huron, Cedarville, MI. The lots are side by side about 40 ft by 50 ft each. We wanted to spend our summers there. The lots were $13,000 for one and $5,000 for the other. Two full hookup sites, sewer, water and 50 AMP. There is Wifi and a great bathhouse and rec room.

Sorry this is in two parts. The annual costs are $600 per lot PO fees and real estate taxes of about $149 each. I hope that when I can no longer use them I can sell then?

Funny that I started this thread 2 years ago and the price I mentioned in the first post is still the same price we'll be paying for the 2020 season.

The management just sent out copies of the new contracts. We'll sign them in April.

Getting closer!
