Mission Tx, Retama Village RV

We are thinking about renting or purchasing a lot in Mission Tx or surrounding area and looking at Retama Village. Any feedback on activities in the area during the winter including hiking or kayaking would be appreciated. Additionally, anyones input on Retama Village owning or renting would likewise be appreciated.

It is a nice RV park with some RV homes also. I would rent first to see if I liked it in the Lower Rio Grand Valley. I have lived in SE Texas for more then 45 years and I have traveled to the "Valley" many times for extended periods of time. There are lots of "Winter Texans" who stay year after year during the winter. Compared to FL or AZ it will be less expensive.
As for me, I go to Southern Florida during the Winter. Good Luck

Thanks for the input. We lived in SW Florida for 3 years, Cape Coral. We missed the mountains so back home in New Mexico. Looking for somewhere new to explore in the future and the lower Rio Grande valley looks like a possibility.
