You did not say what year truck but in my opinion I would prefer to have a dually under the River Stone as it is a heavy unit

The River Stone's have a heavy pin weight and are probably the heaviest 5th wheel Forest River makes, folks are towing with single rear wheels but a dually will offer better stability, I know my pin weight is well over 3,000lbs + empty. Remember this is just my opinion, some say I am overkill with my set up but feel much safer with it towing. Good luck and

Good advice above. Also have the dealer send you a photo of the weight sticker for the one you want.

I solved that problem with a Pellet Grill from Rec Tec. In my opinion it’s a better option if you want to grill, bake or slow cook than any outdoor kitchens I have seen on 5ers. Best thing is it’s portable and does not take up much space when folded for travel. See the video below.

Our RS weighs 3800 lbs on the pin.
To pull this off you need a late model diesel dually with at least 5000 lbs payload capacity. If you're planning to carry an aux fuel tank you'll need an even bigger truck, no 'ifs ands or buts'.

Tell the DW you are buying what you want and if she don't like it to bad, I am still married after 45 years so I did NOT do that. Seriously its a big decision and a lot of money, I suggest you just take your time and put the pros and cons down and go with what you both can love. Safe and happy travels to all.

Before she saw the front kitchen, she was like Heck Yeah, lets get it, but I think i finally won the argument. I told her we could sale after we build our house and probably sale for what we paid.

Take a look at the Riverstone 39FK. We fell in love with it when we saw it. We will be purchasing new after the first of the year and by April we will be full timing in it. Absolutely fell in love with the front kitchen.

Too expensive for me, just bought waterfront lot to build my retirement home on blackwater bay and going to have to sale camper in a year or so, to afford to build. The 2017 Riverstone 38RE is nice and priced at $59k.

The dry pin weight is 3030 lbs and dry weight is 16,781lbs Gross is 19,000 lbs.
Your truck is too light right out of the gate.. Unsafe. DRW is necessary.

Sounds like a Great Deal on the Riverstone
Had to read you post twice to make sure I read the price of the Riverstone Legacy for under $60k. This would be a good deal on a regular Riverstone, let alone the Legacy. I would make sure there are not serious issues with the Riverstone and if possible, talk to the previous owner (if used). If new, the price is way below dealer cost... If it's too good to be true...
Unfortunately, I am not aware of anything like a "Car Fax" for RV's
Montana is a good coach, but it is not a Riverstone by many regards
