Picking up Our New Riverstone 38 FB 2

We will be picking up our new 2018 38FB2 this Saturday from Camping World in Dover, Fl. We have a 9am PDI appointment, any words of wisdom from current Riverstone owners on what we should look for or expect? My DW are starting to get very excited to be bringing our new rig home. As soon as we sell our bricks and sticks it will become our full time home. If anyone is interested in a waterfront SW Florida home just let me know.

Thanks,

Pete

Yes we upgraded the tow vehicle. Now have a 2016 Ram 3500 DRW Laramie long bed.

Thanks,

Pete

Congrats from another River Stone Legacy owner, just don't get to excited, take your time and go over everything. I think somewhere on this forum there is a PDI list to use as a guide line. Good luck and enjoy!!!!

Take a notebook. I understood a BUNCH of stuff during the PDI, then later I went "Wait, WHAT did he say about that?". Go slow. If they hurry, tell them you will be happy to postpone the 'signing' until they can find time.

And........sorry to say.......do NOT expect them to actually followup IF they say "Oh, that can be fixed later". It probably won't be. Whatever you want fixed, have them fix it BEFORE you sign, no matter how much that inconveniences you.

Hoping you have a great experience. Just take everything slower than they'll want you to go. Take notes as to what they tell you. Ask questions, do NOT hold back anything if you don't understand. Everyone gets confused in the PDI, everyone, regardless of what they say. You are getting a good unit, and you just need to make sure you know what it will and won't do.

And later, if you have questions, do not hesitate to ask someone on this forum. Many of us are crusty old goats, me mostly, but someone here knows the answer.......trust me.

Door Side Bedroom Slide

I see that you have the FB-2 floor plan. We will be ordering the 39RKFB tomorrow and I just noticed after looking at a gazillion videos and pictures that when the small bedroom slide is out, it appears that the awning will not be able to tilt down in case it rains. Is this correct? I think the 37IK and 34SLE are the same way.

The awning can tilt down, only thing is it does touch the upper edge of the slide. We currently have ours deployed, when high winds are predicted the awnings come in. Enjoy the 39RKFB, it was a second choice. Looked at so many models and builders, kept coming back to RiverStone.

There are RV Checklists apps available for your phone that you can download. There is one in particular that also has a PDI checklist that is very thorough. I am not allowed to mention the app by name, but I have it on my phone for when our PDI comes. Pick up an outlet/GFCI tester to check all of the electrical outlets. Definitely have them hook up the unit to full electricity and water to make sure all the systems are working. Some dealerships will even request that you stay a night or two on their lot with full hook-ups, or at a nearby rv park, so if you have any questions or concerns they can repair/replace whatever may come up. Have them take their time with you. Even if it takes half a day or longer...that's the least they should do, and you should expect.
