Ladder for 10.5/10.6

We must get up to roof to deploy and pack up our tent.

I canít get up there without a ladder, so we are looking to install a ladder permanently.

Any recommendations? Or have you figured out a better way for a short person to get up on the roof?

Thanks!

get one of the collapsable ladders far better option than an installed ladder.

Thanks for the recommendation. If I can find a tiny one that might work.

I thought about mounting a ladder as well, I don't think I will as it would also give thiefs or trouble makers an easy way up. I'm using a small folding for now.

Update: we are following the wisdom of many 10.5/10.6 owners and getting a telescoping aluminum ladder. Installing a ladder is more expensive, and we can use the telescoping ladder for other things. Thanks for the advice!

ladder purchased - great addition

As my last update (for future readers),

We got an 8.5 foot aluminum telescoping ladder. Wanted to buy it locally, but our hardware stores only had 12 and 14 feet - too big and too heavy for our needs.

The 8.5 is perfect - sits a good foot above the roofline and is quite stable. We paid $70.

It looks very much like the ladder which came with our rooftop tent. The minimalist in me is bothered by having and carrying essentially two of the same tool with us, but there isn't another option!

I would recommend this type of ladder to 10.6 owners who need to get up to the roof to open/pack up their tents.
