2014 Salem 31BKIS heated tanks?

The FR website for my TT says: Enclosed Fresh Water Tank in a Heated Compartment
What does that mean to me? Can I safely leave fresh water in the tank when it's below freezing as long as it's plugged in to shore power?
Does it use battery power when NOT plugged in?

It means the fresh water tank compartment is heated through the furnace ducting system.
