2017 Salem Hemisphere Lite 282RK

My wife & I are picking up the 2017 Salem Hemisphere Lite 282RK in 2 days and are very excited. We are just getting tired of going with all of our friends and sleeping on their dinette sets, Uhg! This will be our very first camper ever! You should see the long list of items my wife has that she is going to buy to furnish this thing, lol. I just want my NFL Sunday ticket!
I feel very confident in the research that we have done in picking out the right TT for us. And our dealer has a great rating!

I really like the X-Chock idea, do they work well and replace the typical chocks?
And I could use some tips on how or what’s needed for DirecTV? (I see kits on Amazon)

But what I would really like to ask, is if anyone has done anything different to their outside kitchen to please post pictures. This was the one part of the trailer that I’m not jumping for joy about. It just looks kinda blah! I was thinking I’d like to do something different to it but don’t want to void any warranties. Any ideas?

The X-chocks I have work great, chock both sides. they are for when you are at your spot and level, I keep 2 rubber chocks for quick chocking like at home or when doing maintenance etc.

Ok, thanks! Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to keep it in my sloped driveway the day before we are leaving for trips while loading it up. I live in a small neighborhood and parking it on the street is not an option. Any suggestions for that?

back it in chock the down slope side of both front wheels and use the lounge jack to level the unit, start the fridge 24 hours before leaving and have fun

I have the same TT, 2014 model. I'm not sure what has changed in 3 years but I can offer the following feedback.

I upgraded the outside LP grill for a stainless steel unit. I really like having the grill so convenient, but the one that came with it rusted out in two years.

I also keep an electric two-burner induction plate in the outdoor kitchen. I wish I had a one or two burner LP stove top. But otherwise I really love the outdoor kitchen.

If you take the TV out and mount it on the outside, be careful of the length of coax cable provided. Perhaps FR has addressed this issue, but my cable was 6 inches too short and I broke off the coax connector the first time I used it.

SS grill is a must! I plan on reworking mine as well. Taking my TV outside is going to be a bit different because I'll be using DirecTV and that line on the side apparently comes from the roof antenna. Doesn't sound like they planned very well for anyone who wants to use satellite TV. There is only one line from the back to the entertainment center, that's it. The bedroom line comes from the roof as well.

So is it normal to do a walk through inspection like you would a home inspection. I want to go in a day before we pick it up and look it over completely to make sure all the doors and drawers open/slide and shut properly and just look thing over. Give them an extra day to repair something if I find anything. Thoughts!
