2018 29BHHL Inverter Upgrade

All,

I am beginning the process of prepping my Hemisphere 29BHHL for extended boondocking. It came with a residential fridge (bummer) with a Xantrex 1000 W inverter to power it (and only it).

Has anyone successfully wired this inverter to power the other outlets in the trailer? Note, I do plan to upgrade the inverter to a 2000W or 3000W model to support our needs, but wanted to get everything tied in first.

I have seen a couple threads about installing a 2nd inverter to power outlets, but wanted to explore this option first.

Thanks in Advance!

I wired an inverter into my system with an automatic transfer switch. Automatically switches 110 to inverter when shore cord is unplugged. I also wired second battery to panel.

Thanks Keith. My struggle is that the inverter and transfer switch are already there from the factory, but are hardwired to the residential fridge only.

I think I'll be tackling this upgrade in phases. Phase 1 will be to add a GFCI outlet to the spot on my existing Xantrex inverter. Then I will be tearing into my rig to figure out where the wiring runs.

I will reply to this thread when I figure out more.

Yep, that is step 1. Trace everything and draw up your own wiring schematic to understand how everything is wired. Mine didn't come with an inverter so I just bought part on Amazon and created my own system. My only problem is that I have to shut the breaker off for the converter before unplugging from shore power, otherwise I create a loop.
