30QBSS

Just bought a 30QBSS, picking it up Saturday. Went camping with my buddy, and his girlfriend in July, Got the bug so we bought a travel trailer. Just curious on suggestions, and comments from the experienced campers out there

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new camper. Only suggestion I have is to take things slow and easy and don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of friendly, knowledgeable and helpful people here. Your buddy will be a good resource.

I just bought a 30qbss two weeks ago. Mine is the new body style and as a civil engineer I think the craftsmanship is fairly poor. Make sure on your predelivery inspection you check everything and the operation of everything. I ended up missing a curtain rod on a mini blind, the bathroom sink catch was broken, the stopper in the bathtub was missing and the electric heater on the hot water heater doesn't work. When the slide goes out if pulls the weather stripping off on of my windows, My fold down kitchen table was cut too short to fold flat as a bed. My back dinette for the kids was cut too long and on our first night out my 5 yr old fell on the floor with a loud crash in the middle of the night. I got a great price on it so I am over looking some of that but it is a pain to have to take it into this shop this early in the game for things the quality control should have caught.

Overall, The positives are numerous so don't let this post scare you. I towed it home 3 hours with a 2004 silverado half ton. It towed super smooth with no problems. That is up some monster hills between Cincinnati and Louisville.

Just try and catch what you can before you drag it home.

I have already camped in it 6 nights out of the 13 I have had it. Everything works as it should other than what was listed above.

Congrats on your trailer and enjoy. Be careful not to step on your slideout floor when it is all the way in and angled up. Also make sure all your plumbing connections are tight.

It wasn't a bad drive home from the dealership as what I have been told. Size and Maneuvering weren't a problem at all. My 3 yr old broke it in quick he was the first to fall asleep in it outside the house. We're loaded, going out in a few weekends here to try things out. Anyone happen to know how to bypass the water heater?

Congrats race man!

To the other posters thanks for info on walking on the slide boards while retracted. Didn't know that. Oops!
