My 2006 26bh got sideswiped by an oncoming class C motor home last week in Yellowstone. Have dents and scrapes on every single section of aluminum on the left front and left side running the length of the trailer. Two broken windows. No major structural damage i can see. I assume body shops only replace and not repair the sections.
Anyone else have an experience like this? The other driver is insured. Any idea what repair costs will be? I'm thinking several thousand at least. Is there any reason to think it won't be totaled? I'd love to go shopping for a new one.
Im still on the road and just want to satisfy my curiosity until the insurance sees it.

We summer in Cowichan Valley BC Canada & winter in MonchiquePortugal great camping in both!
Forgot I had a couple on the phone here. Hard to see, but again, every single aluminum panel in the front and side is scraped or dented from flying debris. His mirror hit mine and it blew out his driver window. Lots of my damage consists of small dents from flying glass and plastic. We were both going 65mph at impact. (In Montana in a 75 zone).
My f350 crew also lost the driver mirror and has dents on both doors.
Phew! Firstly I think you must be thankfull that is all, I mean an impact of 130mph does not bear thinking about.
Glad you are okay!
I think you will be at the mercy of the insurers, much depends on your policy type, hopefully someone thats had similar damage will chime in.
My gut feel is that they will repair it not replace it.

That does look ugly. Was a police report taken? Was the othr driver found at fault or cited for not maintaining lane posiston? If not it may turn out your insurance covers yours and his insurance will cover him...
Other driver admitted fault and Montana highway patrol cited him and took a report. Thankfully, He has insurance.
We have another camping trip on the books in a couple weeks. I'm going to check if the insurance will cover a rental for us. Montana has an insurance law that covers ALL out of pocket expenses related to an insurance claim.
That was close. I can only imagine a collision at 130 mph. Just a few inches more and headon. You are one lucky family. It's just metal and can be fixed. Yeah go for a new one....have fun with your new lease on life.

Estimate came in for the bodywork a few weeks ago. $12,300! So, the insurance company settled with me for $12,500 plus tax, registration, etc. Not bad considering I paid $12,800 three years ago!
