Another Newbie with a question.......

I have a 2000 Salem that I'm trying to figure out what model it is. It is a 5th wheel toy hauler, that says "Sport" on the sides at the rear and by the door it says "F26". It measures 29' long (actual body length, not including 5th wheel). I have called Forest River with the VIN and while they had it in the computer, they couldn't tell what model it was. I've even looked on NADA, but everything there has a slide and mine doesn't.

Can anyone help me id this thing?

Hmmm, normally there's some sort of manufacturer tag on the off-door side of the trailer with some of that information. Sometimes it fades and get's a little difficult to read, but maybe something on there will help point you to the right direction. We had a tough time figuring out what our hybrid model was too, but after I found that metal plate and wiped it down with a moist cloth, I was able to read the M-18 ink stamp on it, barely.

Ok, so after looking at the nada again, apparently there is a Forest River - California side of things with the Salem Sport listed in it. I think I've narrowed it down for you to one of these 3 models - SALEM SPORT FIFTH WHEEL SERIES
M-26SU - 30' x 8' M-30SU - 33' x 8'
M-37SU - 38' x 8'

Normally, they include the rear bumper and the hitch (for bumper pulls) in the measurements, so you might have to extend the measuring tape a little longer to see which one of these makes more sense. When you have it, here's the link the page for the NADA:
RV 2000 FOREST RIVER-CALIFORNIA Travel Trailers Fifth Wheels prices, specs and options at

Notice the Brand on it was "Forest River-California" one to me???

Hope that helps ya.

2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Auto 5.9 Diesel
Gone but not forgotten -1986 Rockwood 1003 PUP
