Anyone upgrade camper door locks?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking into upgrading our TT factory locks to the electric pin code locks.
Has anyone done this yet?
Any tips?

Do a search for LOCKS and you'll find several threads.

Electronic key ad
We upgraded ours to a Bauer brand. Like it veryuch although having a problem with it resetting back to the default code as opposed to the one we selected.
Watch the.video online and disregard thr.paper.directions included with the unit. They.are inaccurate.

A Bauer
We put a Bauer type, which looks like the one you have as a pic, on our 5th wheel, it works great and we also really enjoy the freedom of not having a key in our pocket. One word of advice however, when we first installed it something happened with the batteries and we could not get the pin code to work and the factory default pin did not work as well. Luckily the rig was at home and we had a key. I took the lock set apart and replaced the batteries with new ones and all was fine and is still fine. I did not check the old batteries when I took them out so maybe they were just bad. You'll love it!

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I was a little iffy if it would actually work or not.
We have the keyless entry at home so I'm certain that I would forget the keys somewhere haha..

Yeap - we put one similar to that one for our Motorhome. We love it. One of those things we wish we would have done years ago even back in our TT days.

I have one for sale, two years old, had it on our 5er, worked great, you need to replace the batteries like every three months. Won't fit on our MH.

I bought the same one you have pictured. It was refurbished on Amazon. I think I paid around $116 for it. Installed it very high end batteries and it works great. As it was refurbished, it didn't come with mounting screws. I tired to use the screws that came with the old lock. They were too long and had to add washers to make them work. Sent an email to the company telling this this and they sent me a complete set of screws and mounting plates for the latch. I think its a great addition.

I replaced mine with the same unit in picture and love it;
It was very easy to change and works perfect, like that it is different from factory, and the key pad allows any code to be input so is safer, EXPECT you will need to keep an eye on the batteries if in storage from more that 6 months?

Tap the holes first
I did a lot of looking and got the one in your pic. The one thing I forgot to do was tap the holes and I broke 2 heads off. I had read that and forgot to do it, also it is a touch pad you don't have to push hard to get it to work. We got it after my wife locked herself out at 6:30 am (I leave at 4:45 am) in 20 degree weather, no ph,dog and had to walk 1/2 way around campground to a friend and woke them up to call me. 2 more of our friends here have gotten one also. Happy Camping! Poo

Which model did you purchase, 3.0 or 4.0??? Appears only difference the 4.0 has the Key Pad integrated and 3.0 does not.

Interesting video....
Do you have to put in the code to LOCK IT ?
Or can you just hit the lock button. Seems silly to enter the code just to lock.

He's looking at them to decide; he's been busy at work and hasn't gotten to research them further
