Might have to try this when mine get out of the shop. Mine would not roll back up without help. Thanks

Looks great! Good job.

From your pictures it looks like lowering another 1-1/2" would eliminate the "gutter" it is making with the attaching rail.

Was thinking about going 3" but I think that would be cutting me close on clearance at top of entrance door and awning(when door is open and awning is out). Probably would of been ok but just thought that maybe when it collected a little water before dumping it would be close.

Not so sure this mod would do anything for it needing help when rolled in. By lowering it, it took allot of stress off the fabric mount that is mounted to the camper. Also looks more where it should be located.

I believe my problem is a weak motor on the awning. Would roll out fine, but going in, would just power out.

You might have a problem with the material not being centered on the tube itself with the awning rolling in. Also, you might lube all the pivot points. The motors are not very strong and need all the help they can get altho you should not have to manually assist it.

Thanks Old Coot. Camper less than two months old. Tried adjusting material, lube, cussing. Nothing helped. Build date of 4/16/2013, on awning. Hoping I just got a oops.

Think I would be contacting the dealer or Dometic. There is a young lady on the forum that has been doing a great job helping people with the replacement of motors.

It's a Lippert, LCI awning, already contacted them and they sent me to the shop. A/C acting up too, so they can play with that also. Wish my problems weren't electrical, then maybe I would have a chance on fixing myself.
