Question awning

On my 2016 337BAR trailer The awning is a Lippert.
I have had Carefree of Colorado on others. Carefree very easy to tie down.
Lippert not so friendly.
Any suggestions?

Are you trying to tie it down for hiway travel or while the awning is deployed at camp?

do you have a new power awning and want to tie it town like an old school awning? they sell awning supports to do that if you wish. I just tilt mine so water runs off and bring in when wind is bad.

The manual says DO NOT TIE YOUR AWNING DOWN. In fact they expect you to roll it up during bad weather. The reason is that when you strap it down, there is nothing to prohibit downward flex. This can snap the awning tube in half. Now if there was only a way to stop the downward flex?...Add poles! I made a set out of PVC pipe. 1 1/2, 2" pipe and 2 saddles cut in half (these will cup the awning tube. the 1 1/2 pipe sits inside the 2" pipe. The 1 1/2 inch pipe
has the saddles glued on one end. Drill one hole in the top (all the way through) of the 2" pipe. (about 48") drill several holes (all the way through) the 1 1/2 pipe. The poles can be set to different heights and held in place with an assortment of clamps available at any hardware store. I suggest searching the internet for PVC tent poles and you will get the idea from pintrest or other places and you can make your own in a couple of hours. Happy Camping and Good Luck!
