I cannot tell from the picture what group size your old battery is. Most of the RV dealers use group 27 since they are a few dollars cheaper than a group 29 battery. Most Interstate batteries are marked with the group size on the battery.
You have picked a group 24 one size smaller than a group 27. I would go with the group 27.

The 27's they have don't look like it would fit in our existing battery box. Do I need to worry about that?

Well I would say your old battery is a group 24. Your battery box should also fit a group 27 most do but we cannot be sure.

I ended up getting a group 24. I live pretty far from walmart so didn't want to risk it. Our trailer is really small. Does that make a difference in which battery should be used? We have a 20 footer

The size of the trailer does not really determine the size of the battery only the load you will be pulling out of the battery. When you get home make sure you put the battery on a charger and charge it up good before you install it in your RV. Also make sure the battery connections are clean, shiny and tight when you install.

If I hook it up on the rv and plug into a 110, will it charge it that way?

Yes the converter in the RV will charge up the battery.

Ugh.....having a heated discussion about regular generator vs inverter generator. Please let me know the main differences.

Gens

A regular construction type gen is a lot louder than an inverter gen, but cost about 1/3 of the inverter gens. Tractor Supply has the 4,650/4,000 on sale for $335 where as your inverter gens of that size will cost upward of $1,300. TS also have smaller units by Champion for really low prices [3500/4000 for $299]
If you just want a gen to recharge your batteries, then a 2,000 Watt unit would do. Very small and light weight. About $175 last I looked.

main difference is noise level. quietness costs more.

you said you have a generator, what brand/size is it?
if it's an open-frame contractor type generator, it's not appropriate for a campground.

Battery is on the rig. Does anyone know how long to fully charge it? The rig is plugged into a power outlet.

You should have had the store check its charge before you left with it.
They could have topped it off, with a quick charger.
Without knowing what percentage it was when you picked it up, no way you can accurately answer your question.

So the Walmart didn't have an Auto Center?
If you didn't pay attention to which wires go where, you may have crossed them and blown a fuse or 12v breaker, when you put the battery in.

It didn't. Just an auto care aisle. There are 2 wires coming off the trailer. One is red and one is white. The red is on red and the white is on the other. I'll check the fuses
