Question Bolts

We picked up our 27DBUD yesterday and I've got a few questions.

1. after we got home noticed 2 bolts on the slide out at the bottom edge. They look like they may be for support jacks for extended periods when the slide out is open. It is a deep slide so it is a good idea to support the slide for long trips.

2. The fresh water tank is heated but I don't see a switch to activate the heater. I'm thinking that it may be thermostat controlled. If that's the case I would think that I should keep at least some water in the tank.

3. The stabilizer jacks are powered. If for some reason the power function fails can the be manually set?

You try to think of all the questions to ask during the PDI but it always seems that when you get home you find stuff you missed. Thanks for the help.

One on each slide rail? Probably the adjusters. Just a guess, based on what I've seen under mine.

They are at the slide rails. They extend down about 3 inch's.

No on the (Slide supports). There is (1) switch for all your tank heaters, they are Thermo controlled. Yes you can manually adjust your Stab jacks. Youroo!!

Ok thanks, the hot water heater switch also controls the fresh water tank heater as well. I wouldn't have guessed that. I did find the manual crank points on the jacks. Thanks again.

Oh OK. Well there's no switch on the panel so I'll keep looking. I may have to give the dealer a call. Thanks

There is no switch to heat the tank. They say the tank is " heated" because it is foamed in up underneath the body and a heat vent from the heater in the camper is right near the top of the tank to keep it warm.

That is unless they changed it from last year to this year on the same model

You will probably hear conflicting opinions on the supports for the slide. I do have some slide supports that I use, more because they stabilize the camper than to support the slide. I have read many differing opinions on the slide jacks. Basically from what I have read they are not needed. The bolts you reference are for slide adjustment, i was told don't mess with them by the dealership.

I have a 2 6tbud and have the same jack set up as your I have looked all over for a manual way to raise and lower the jacks if the power option fails witch mine has already last month my slide awning and jacks all lost power but yet everything else worked just fine I spent two days racking my brain as to what caused this wound up taking ot to my local dealer and they spent over 50 hours and came up with nothing we called in a factory rep and they sent a repair tech from the factory luckily he found the problem afyer only a couple of hours it was only a wire in the ceiling that had come undone from the butt splice from the factory installation. I have a 2 6tbud 2012 that I bought in july of 2014

The tank heaters on the black and grey tank keep the valve from freezing so you can dump. Fresh Water has a pad stuck on it somewhere. Mine are all on one switch on the Control Panel.

Thanks for all of the information folks. I've bought several RV's from this dealership and I guess they figure I should know all of this but every one of the trailers I have bought have been different in one way or another. I should ask more questions.
