Boxed in deadspace(?) 241QBXL Salem Cruise Lite

I recently purchased a 2017 Salem Cruise Lite 241QBXL. In the bathroom there is an enclosed area that I'm trying to decide if its just a space filler with empty dead space or if there is actually something in there. I'm attaching a photo but its the space to the right of the shower stall, or more accurately it is "forward" of the shower stall between the shower and the front bathroom wall. Does anyone know FOR SURE whats in that space? If someone knows it saves me repairing the wall if I cut in just to find out I can't use the space. It looks to me to be a perfect space to add some "cubby hole" storage in the bathroom. Anyone? Thanks for feedback, tboots

I'm guessing a space filler. If it is that would be a great place to park a broom. Might be worth doing some exploratory surgery to find out. I know I found a couple spaces I may utilize. One is low under the stove area and would be a good place to park extra shoes.

If it is safe, check your roof for tank vents. i know in houses you will see bulkheads and areas like that blocked off for plumbing vents and heat runs. you may find electrical tucked in there, but that is easy to deal with.

Most likely houses the plumbing vent pipe for the shower and sink drains.

If that is the case (which i suspect it is), they should be able to tell where the pipes are in that space. they can measure off of the skylight in the shower from the outside and see if it would be worth opening it up once they are inside.

I’m thinking of getting one of those little inspection cameras. Drill a little hole and peek then cover with a stick on towel hook if no go. Plenty of comments here about cutting wires and piles during exploratory surgery��. It would be nice to see a framing diagram or a video of what’s inside these rigs. Amazing amount of wasted space.

Here is what I found. Very useful space. That's a"pop" vent on the drain line.

Thanks for the update, definitely room for some shelves to tuck away some underwear, tissues or other small items. It's good to have heads up before starting a project with an unknown factor.

Put some shelves in there.Great place for toilet paper and rolled towels.

Yeah, typical RV construction can leave tons of wasted storage space just hiding there waiting for you to find it.
Our rig had two boxed in areas, one on each side of the bed. I knocked out the front panel from each and laid in a piece of carpet. Now we both have wire baskets in there. We call it the sock drawer, undies, unmentionable? drawer. Maybe the drawers drawer!
Also in our bathroom there are shelves which could be called linen storage.
Below that was another blank panel. I took a gamble and knocked it out. Found a 3 foot deep wasted space with just some wires and flex pipe in the very back. I screwed in a stop block to protect them and DW found a laundry basked that fit perfectly. Now we have a spot for the dirty clothes.
It's a bit of a treasure hunt but often worth the time to check them out.

Even if you don't find usable space you might just find a hidden junction box or some other plumbing or electrical that you'll need to access one day. (like a hidden antenna splitter?)

Might even find enough sawdust to make a Pres-to-Log. That's usually what I find in all the hidden spaces.
