Brake cable hookup
Where is the best place to attach the trailer brake cable to the TV? I'm not sure this is right

Brake cable hookup
I use a ring to attach it to the hitch.
Not with the chain.
If the chain comes off, so will the cable.

I would use a good carabiner in one of the safety chain holes.

Same place where you have it, TV's hitch and not chains, like the others above stated. Although I use aftermarket replacement trailer brake cable instead of the original piece. This reduces the slack of the plain wired one, mine was just too long and my fear of it getting caught on road debris and pulling the pin out. Here is a picture of it.

Where are most putting the cable on a fifth?
I punched a small hole in the slider handle, to clip to.

My B&W hitch had a centered hole on the back 'rail' that I used to attach a 6" eye bolt into. I had to bend the eye bolt slightly to tilt it away from the hitch enough that I can attach the carabiner. It's a stretch sometimes to reach it, but it works real well.

When I had a TT, I removed one of the license plate screws and replaced it with a stainless eye bolt. On the backside of the eye bolt, I put a washer and nut for strength.

Thanks. I didn't think the attaching it to the chains was a good idea but couldn't find another place. Looks like I need a separate ring or something to attach to.

I didn't think you had it attached to the chains, but to the hole for the chains. I use the caribiner in the hole.
