This morning I plugged in the trailer and noticed that the lights on the microwave were not lit as if it had no power. I opened the door and the inside light came on and turntable started turning (with door opened) but no panel lights. then stopped when door closed?? Tried again with same results. Confused, I checked the breakers and found the 15 amp "GENERAL"breaker and 15amp gfi breaker tripped. I reset breakers one at a time and was startled by a loud poof and a large amount off smoke from the circuit board with the converter and cooling fan. Looks as if a capacitor ???blew up. Supposed to leave on a trip in a few days and need a quick replacement /repair in the sacramento,ca area. Any ideas?

If you can find a local distributer install a progressive dynamics. "Check local rv dealers"
Best converter can have you one in a few days.

When you stated, you plugged in the trailer this morning...what exactly did you plug into?

It almost sounds like you are plugged into a 240 volt outlet.

Mike has a good article on this, and much more info in the comments section there:
