Cruise Lite 195bh bumper attachment

I know the sticker says no attachments on the rear bumper. Although the dealer mounted a spare tire there that’s been fine for 3 years. I’d like to hear from people with the Lite travel trailers who put a bike rack on the bumper.

Has it held up or have you had any issues?
My warranty is over so I’m not worried about that, and I’d love to carry a couple bikes on the back instead of inside.

Please take my advice. Don't attach bikes to the bumper
. It is not designed to take the constant bouncing with the bikes. If you can find someone to install something to the subframe it may be possible. You will get a lot of responses stating otherwise. I lost a bike doing this from the bouncing down the highway. Worst case, the thin bumper could break off. The tire is closer to the bumper than the bikes will be , reduced flexing. Please do not attach bikes to bumper ...ask me how I know

See here. Post #2 for the beefed up receiver on my Roo 19. Post #12 for the beefed up receiver on my Mini Lite 2503S. A qualified welder can do it for about $300-400.

Do NOT put anything on the bumper unless you've beefed it up. Some folks report that safety struts do a good job:

What type of rack did you have and how was it mounted? Where was the failiure, did your bumper come off?
Sure seems like I could put a 2 bike rack over the spare tire

The frame has its own separate warranty and it's usually around 5-6 years.

Attachment 201574Attachment 201575

The bike rack failed due to bouncing and one of my kids bikes luckily fell off and did not hit anyone. After the incident I had some one follow me and video of rack showed bumper flexing which made rack bounce excessively. Safest place in camper or on front mounted hitch to truck.

Well, since you didn't post the year nor had that info in your profile, I had to assume it was new.

I would use one with any tt, it helps transfer some of the weight towards the front axles of the truck.

I use one on my Mini Lite 2503S and 3/4 ton Silverado. Doesn't hurt.
