Cutoff valve for Galley tank

Can someone please explain to me why the cutoff valve for the galley tank is under the front part of the slideout rather than near the actual sewer drain near the back of the trailer. When we drain and add more water to clean out the black tank it fills up the plumbing all the way back to the cutoff near the gallery before it starts adding water to the black tank. And to add insult to injury the cutoff valve goes straight up and down and is about a foot under. We are now checking on how to move the cutoff valve to near the drain.

As stated in my signature a 2018 Salem 27DBK.

The valves you use to stop anything from coming out of the tanks.

Same camper here. That is annoying, having to dock under to pull the valve open.
My guess was so that water isn't sitting in the pipe all the way down to the dump connector.
You can buy valves, connectors and glue to move the valve.

cutoff valve for galley tank

I had a problem with my black tank cable dump valve ( it leaked ) , I changed it to a electric valve. Now I just push a button on my 3850 5er. You could wire it some place better for you. Just an option.
