Did I make a bad choice?

I read these posts about people complaining about their Salem. Is there anyone out there with good things to say about theirs. We just purchased the 30KQBSS and are looking forward to delivery on 8/10.

Please share positive stories so that I don't feel like we've made the wrong decision! I am so excited to get camping...

How many different people posted negative things about their Salem...2,3,5? Do you think Forest River sells more than 5 Salems a year? The thing I have come to learn is a lot of the people who post in a forum like this do so because they have a way to voice their displeasure, whereas, people who don't have a problem are out enjoying their camper and don't even bother to post anything. Just make sure you go over EVERYTHING during your walkthrough and you'll be fine. Test every outlet, open and shut every door, test your AC and fridge, check the seams on the roof and ask them to reseal them if necessary, check your tire pressures, etc, etc. Take a video camera and tape it too. You will have many happy years in your Salem. Good luck and Welcome to the forums!

We had just bought our Salem Cruise-lite 181BHXL, we're very pleased with the product, there were minor issues that we had the dealer fix before we actually left the lot, this is part of your PDI. Other than that, were gonna enjoy camping with it, remember there is no perfect trailer, unless you make it perfect in your own way, such as add ons, mods, dyi fixes or whatever makes it work for you. As Punkaccountant stated, go through everything, nitpick every little nook and corner.

We bought our '09 Salem LA last October, had to winterize it right away because of an early snow (which sucked because there were a bunch of nice weekends after that when we could have used it!). I used it once in February (still winterized) and was really glad the furnace worked! Then I finally got to dewinterize it in April and I've been in it 14 nights so far. I don't have any major issues, just a few minor things that I'm going to have the dealer fix when I take it in for inspection next month. I'm very happy with the purchase and I'm sure you will be too. Just keep the battery charged!

I had my Salem for about 22 months now and can honesty say that I don't have any regrets. In fact I love it & think I made a great choice! Almost all of my minor fix it items were my choice in electing to be very picky. I have a great relationship with my dealership & service department that includes mutual respect.

If I could turn back hands of time the only thing that would be different is that my Salem would be *brand new* again instead of *gently broken in*.

I've had my 30qbss for over a year now and love it. Get a lot of compliments on it too. I'm very particular on keeping it clean and polished.

We love our 26TBUD. It's a 2011 and we have spent many a peaceful night inside it. No problems at all to report.

I had the same concerns before I bought my 2012 TBUD.... I have been using it all summer up and down the east coast. Praise God I have not had a single problem and couldn't be happier with my purchase. The trailer is extremely roomy and a dream to tow.
Enjoy it and safe camping!!

We have had our Salem 30kqbss for over a year now and only had a couple of minor issues with it that we fixed at home.
We think that Salem is one of the best built trailers for the money we spent.Enjoy your new trailer and don`t worry about problems that may occur.

We previously owned a 32' Salem TT bunkhouse model w/ two slides for 3yrs before we sold it two months ago...awesome unit.
Minor issues that I repaired myself, overall this unit did it's job for our family of four in all camping environments.

New owner's love it, again with no problems.

salem 27rls

Bought new in april had a couple of minor things wrong. Dealer fixed them right away. Had a couple of other things fixed at International Frog Rally in August by factory techs. We really enjoy our TT

We loved our 2012 30kqbss we only had a couple of issue like the wall paper bubbling up, we changed it to a war bird airplane theme. Keep the chocoholic boarder. The other problem was the top rail for the dinette divider came loose and we repaired it our self. Plenty of room in the back bunks area for 2 adults to eat at the table with the top bunk in the up position. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoy ours.

You shouldn't feel that way.Have you read through any of the other brand names here under the Forest River umbrella? Many have had their share of woes, and others like myself not so much.Your never going to get a perfect anything thats manmade! So be positive Do a thorough walk-thru with the dealer, and if something even looks slightly askew, question it right thereAnd use it,don't let it sit in the driveway

We purchased our 2010 29fks in May 2010. Have camped about 90 nites, only issue was furnace would not ignite last spring, dealer sent tech and repaired it. Very happy with it, especially the patio door which gives us many compliments and a great view.
