Unhappy Electrical problem.

Help! I am new at this. I have a 2016 Salem 27rkss. Everything worked fine when I parked it in October. I am not getting lights on the inside when hooked to the battery. The slide, awning, jack and stabilizers work. Also, the battery is not charging. I charged the battery and put it back in and still not working. Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you connect the battery properly? Usually it is black positive lead and a white negative lead. If connected in reverse then the reverse polarity fuses in the converter will blow....

Yes, the battery and cables are well labeled. Also, everything work when it is plugged in to electricity.

OK, then follow positive lead from battery and see underneath trailer near tongue for a mini-breaker and press small black button to reset. Some unit have also a fuse close by that should be checked.....

Check the two large fuses in the fuse panel ( 30-40A). They could have blown while doing the battery work. If they are bad, the battery will not charge and little things( lights etc) not connected directly to the battery will not work.

Thank you fonzie! After much looking, I found the reset. (Could they have made it any harder?) Just another quick question. Are the plugs in the trailer supposed to work on just the battery, or does it have to be plugged in? Mine are not working, but everything else it.

If just on 12 volt DC power (battery) then your air-conditioner, microwave, television, or any 120 volt outlets will not work. You have to have a form of 120 volt AC shore power/generator for these items to work.

This may help

The plugs will not work. Requires shore power/ generator.
