Our previous camper was a 30 Amp service andit had no problem running the AC and WH simultaneously. The AC was a 13500 unit. Perhaps a 15000 unit may have had problems.

The only things I could not run with the AC WH was the Microwave and/or my wifes hair dryer. Like a previous poster I ran a 20 Amp line but I put it into a receptacle beside the lavatory. That was for DWs hair dryer. It worked perfectly.

If your wh temp was satisfied, then the wh was actually NOT on, ..... if so, that 11-12 amps was not on the system ....

Update: So I was able to plug into the site next to me after my neighbor left. I ran both the WH on electric and the AC for over an 1 and half hours and didn't have a problem. I ran out all the hot water and cranked the air down so it would run continuously. So maybe it was a weak breaker. I ordered my ems today and will have it the next time I go.
