Flickering lights USB port

I have a 2019 Salem 31KQBTS with factory installed USB ports throughout the trailer. I've noticed when I plug a phone in to charge the led lights in the trailer start to flicker. Has anyone experienced this same issue? Are the USB ports junk and need to be upgraded? I am currently connected to shore power I couldn't imagine charging a phone to cause this much disturbance in the 12v system.

Does this happen with any of the usb ports or just the one you use for your phone? If just one I would say pull the receptacle and check the connections.

It happens with multiple outlets.

I'm really wondering on this one. Is it the frequency from the usb when operating doing the interference or is it the 12V power. You might install a quality usb in one of the receptacles and see if that solves the problem if not I think I would start at the source (converter) and ensure all 12V connections are tight. This is an interesting problem let the forum know what you discover and correct good luck

The plant I work at has a variety of meters and oscilloscopes I will see if it's something simple otherwise I'll move onto using that equipment.

I have noticed that often when charging a phone in USB ports throughout my Isata 4, my TV's experience an interference. If I disconnect phone from charging, interference goes away!!

I too experience this 'flickering lights' in my 2019 FSX260RT !
I noted it at the first warrantee service, and they said it was the battery!?!?!?!
They changed the battery out and it still happens. Seems to only happen when we use the usb charging ports in the bedroom…so we just use others to charge.
I don’t think it’s worth the aggravation to take it in again for warrantee…they Seem to know less about the darn thing than I do…

Let me know if you find the cause or a concern while investigating!

If you have an Android phone, get an app like Ampere and you can see how much charge is going into your phone.

Personally, I would just change the USB charge ports that came with the camper to better ones. These are the ones I use. They can deliver up to 4.8A total for the pair of outlets.

I finally removed the charging port from the wall to look for manufacture information and checked connections. The lighting and USB ports throughout the TT use the same circuits. I'm just going to blame the flicker on the USB ports being cheap or the led fixtures not not liking the interference from the power supply in the USB charging port.

Flickering 12V lights when USB port used.

I also have the flickering 12V lights problem when plugging in an iPhone or iPad into the USB ports, on shore power. I'm pretty sure the AC/DC controller is not able to handle the load and is unstable, concerned it might burn out. The USB port on the Furrion stereo doesn't flicker the lights when the devices are plugged into that (the USB charge current is probably lower, too).

Has anyone solved this?

I kind of gave up on the issue. I figure by the time I buy new usb charging ports it's cheaper and easier to just use the 120 outlets next to them. Sorry I couldn't offer more insight.
