Generator won't run A/C

So I posted in another topic that I bought a dometic lw3000 plus and it would run my 13500 a/c. Well that was before I tried to run it on a hot day 😓.

On our last trip 4th of July weekend I tried to run ac. the fan would run for about 30 seconds then trip the generator. I saw a video on youtube showing how to run the ac w this generator but still no luck.

Do I need a bigger generator? Or would a hard start capacitor help. I donot see that the ac has one. The TT is a 2014 26tbud.

When trying to run your AC, was the water heater and refrigerator on propane? If on electric you probably were exceeding capacity of your generator.

1. Do you have a way to check how many Amp the air conditioner draws, looks like the generator can deliver max. 23 Amp at 120 Volts.
2. Make sure nothing else draws electricity and the batteries are fully charged, the converter/charger draws a substantial amount of power until the batteries are full.
3. Don't use extension cords.

According to their website, it should be able to power your AC.

(With a clean, stable power for all home or work applications, the LW3000 Plus easily powers a 13,500 BTU air conditioner.)

I have a Yamaha 3000 and it powers my 13.5K AC with ease. Maybe you need to install a hard start capacitor. Others will chime in with more info at what to do next hopefully.

I'm guessing your converter/charger is still charging the batteries which can be between ~5 and ~15 Amp AC, when you add the initial draw from the air conditioner of ~15 to ~20 Amp that could be too much.
Try running the generator for at least and hour or so before you start the air conditioner.

Only difference is your Yamaha 3000iseb has the boost option which the OP's doesn't have, that makes it a little trickier.

Our Yamaha 3000Sib also has trouble sometimes even when not in ECO depending on outside air temp.

Putting in a time delay module to delay fan start up until after the compressor is on speed solved it.
