On the thermostat set the fan to AUTO. There is a control for heat/cool/auto and a fan control for High/Low /Auto.

On my rig the furnace runs continuously, is this normal?, I set the temperature at 78 degrees. I’m fortunate that I’m not in subzero climates🤧

As flybob indicated your fan should be set to auto. If on low or high it will run continuously. Note this is the fan in the ceiling, not the fan blowing the heat at the floor level. Some people like it to blow continuously to move the air, but apparently most of us do not.

in my 02 5er, the furnace has it own fan. The fan in the ceiling is for the a/c. Two different systems. I guess the newer stuff you guys now that I'll I'll be buying in about 10 years is high tech.

Based on the suggestions already submitted, I think it's important to distinguish between "furnace runs continuously" and "A/C unit blower runs when the furnace is burning (I used "burning" to differentiate from blower running")'. So... is your furnace burning propane or are you just hearing a blower?

Yes, there are two separate systems... but about 2x per week for several years here we've had people ask "why does my A/C blower run along with the furnace blower?". The always given answer is not really about high tech stuff nor about the two separate systems. As has been said above, the always given answer refers to the Dometic thermostat which will turn on the A/C blower along with furnace operation IF the Fan mode setting on the thermostat is LO (low) or HI (high) and not AU (auto). And, as has been said above, some people like the feature since it causes the A/C blower to stir/mix heated air from the furnace.

My a/c fan never runs with the heat with or without the fan on or auto. Two separate systems using the same thermostat.

I disconnected my Dometic controller from the heater to make the whole system more user friendly. The heater runs on its own controller, the AC system (2 AC Units), run with the Dometic controller. I run the actual "ceiling fan" in the living room area full time to mix the air throughout the RV (switched and controlled separately) and keep the temperatures comfortable throughout the RV.

sandnpalms, thanks for reporting back with your resolution. This will give MORE credibility to Flybob's answers!

Just curious - has anyone bought an aftermarket thermostat to replace the Dometic unit? If so, does that get rid of the "must be in auto" rule?
