Heater upgrade.

I have a 2016 368rlbhk. The unit came with a 35k btu furnace from the factory that seemed to be insufficient in moderately cold northern WI spring weather. Would swapping out the 35k unit for a 42k btu unit make a significant difference? I plan to add some additional insulation in the basement as well. Maybe even swap the cheap corrugated ducting for hard ducts. But for about $200 after resale of the old furnace I could upgrade to a 42k unit. I am looking forward to your thoughts and insight.

Have you felt around the outside of the ducting with furnace running?

I would estimate a 20% improvement. That would be 42/35. Yes, I am a rocket engineer.

Before you go to the trouble, have you made sure all your vents/ducts are fully clear and you're pushing a good amount of air?

There are many threads here of folks complaining they aren't getting heat from their vents. Turns out their vents are twisted or crimped.
