Hemisphere 282RK Ladder Blocking

Does anybody know if the ladder blocking is standard in the rear wall of Hemisphere trailers. My 282RK did not come with an external ladder so I ordered one from FR but just thought to ask if the blocking is behind the wall to support the ladder when the ladder is not ordered as an option on the unit. The attached picture shows a 282RK with the ladder already installed from the factory.

Thanks

I have this model with a ladder. Every other one I have seen has a ladder. It may be that all dealers add this as an option.

Mine didn't and most I have seen on dealers lots don't have it as well, I did receive some additional information that the alignment on the right side about 1/2" off the corner bead will land the supports on the corner stud while the left and top are just screwed into what ever they land on. This seems like it could be weak on the left side but apparently they are all installed in this manner.

My trailer did not come with a ladder, but I first called Forest River with my model# & VIN # and they directed me who to talk to if backing was behind the wall for ladder installation & where to position the supports. Pre drill your holes so the fiberglass doesn't splitter and put silicone on your screws when installing. Good luck!

When you did this did you find headers/backing on the left side or was it just in the fiberglass and substrate? if so does it seem solid?

I ordered my 282rk with the ladder. It seems solid, (I tugged on the mounts some) in the rear wall. I'm 200lbs and was skeptical about climbing it.
I can take some pics and measurements if you need them but have no idea what you will be drilling into.

If FR can give you info I would go with that.

Good info here. I too do not have a ladder. I asked the dealer and they said to contact FR to see if my unit has the blocking built in.

The Answer

I emailed Wayne Bigler at FR and he sent me a hand drawn diagram of the rear wall for a Hemisphere 282RK. He said that all units are built the same, with the ladder blocking installed. Hint: You are looking at the diagram from inside the trailer.

Mine came with a ladder. That was one of the selling points for me.
