hemisphere 300bh with a f150 355 gears

Looking at a hemisphere 300bh and the dealer says my truck will pull it fine of course. I have a Ford f150 king ranch regular tow package 3.55 gears. I won't be making cross country trips with this just 6 or 7 hours hear and there but mostly short hops to local campgrounds. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Saw your post from last summer and wanted to see how things went afterward. We just bought a 300bh (our first RV ever) and are looking for the right tow vehicle now. Everything we've read so far points toward a very powerful F-250 or F-350 based on loaded weight of the TT and tow capacity of the truck paired with tongue weight. I couldn't be any further from being an expert in this matter, so this is solely what I've learned thus far supported to my DH's knowledge. Are you using your F-150 or did you end up going bigger? If bigger, to what and how does it perform?

Tundra has 430 gears, 14" disc brakes and we got 8.7 miles a gallon average on a 6,500 mile trip to Yellowstone from Alabama, we ran 70 and 75 miles hour and never had any problems pulling 10,942 elevation at bear tooth parkway, our friends in f150 Eco boost melted his brakes coming down and had a hard time pulling 6,500 pounds. Transmission temp and brake smoke problem, he had the 2012 big 6 Eco boost. Just saying

Great to see you have a TV that gets the job done; sorry about your F-150. Your experience validates our learnings.

Beautiful pic!

I have only got to pull three times with the f150 but it seems to do ok as long as your not in a big hurry which Im not I stay around 65 on the four lanes doesn't seem to wander a lot even in 10 to 15 mph cross wind. I did add air bags and a remote compressor to take some of the road bounce out and ir works really good. We hope to head to the east coast soon as they finish warranty repairs so I will know a little more after this trip

Sounds like your friend didnt have his inegrated trailer brakes set correctly. More operator than equipment problems.

Ford f150

The late models ford f 150 2012 or newer will pull it just fine, the 300 Bh weighs
Between 8200 and 8800 right off the production line, so when you load up its easy to hit 10,000 pounds easy. I load up in mine and go across scales at 16530 pounds, my limit on the toyota is 16,000. It handles great at 16,530 / have a safe trip

That was partly true, we all used our transmission to help the break, the ford didn't do that until the bottom halve of the mountain.
