Hot water heater

We are having problems starting the hot water heater on our 2006 salem trailer with front bedroom... Wg
What are we doing wrong? Is there a trick to it?

Make sure the propane lines are purged by starting the stove top and the if the water heater is DSI, turn it on and after it tries 3 times without lighting, turn the switch off and then back on. Repeat until it starts. Make sure the tank is full by flipping the pressure relief valve at least once. You should get water out of the valve when flipped.

If you have the Suburban brand water heater this may help. As per the FAQ, make sure there is water in the heater directly first before you attempt to turn on anything. It tells how to check in the link:
