I thought camping was supposed to be relaxing?

Well, I've used my '08 Salem LA twice now and each time something goes wrong. The first time I used it, the tank level panel that has the water pump & water heater on it did not work = no running hot water. This past weekend I used it and the water heater worked, but I wasnt getting any hot water inside the camper. Then later on, I noticed my bathroom floor covered in water....that was a water line connection that wasnt tite. Can anything else go wrong!!??

Eventually, no. Once everything that can go wrong goes wrong some of it starts over again. On the bright side, making improvements on original design or workmanship will prevent repeat issues and you'll enjoy many more beers while you stare at your handywork!

I'm curious. Are you saying your hot water heater was heating
but you had no hot water??
Or do you mean no water at all coming out of the hot faucets??
Could be as simple as a bypass valve in the wrong position?

I've owned 3 trailers and each one leaked a water line somewhere
when new.
Each one was a loose fitting and each one was easily fixed with
simple tools. One blew off a hose at the water pump and
would have flooded the trailer but we were there to shut
off the pump

Hope you get your bugs out soon.

My buddy has had the same amount of problems out of his brand new Keystone. He and his family went with me and mine this past weekend. 95+ degrees out, and his A/C wouldnt blow cold air. He has never even used his air sense he bought the thing in March. So him,his wife,14yr old son,2.5yr old daughter and their 2 one yr olds had to sleep in the brand new camper with no A/C. It's just rediculous that it seems like there is no quality control at the manufacturer and or the dealers!

Yeah, we had hot water at the water heater, but none inside. It was the bypass valve turned the wrong way.

See! That one will likely not happen twice! Things are getting better already!

Have you noticed that every time there is a problem posted, soon after there is a solution, that's because someone on this GREAT FORUM has been there in your shoes and they are willing to help. By the time you find and fix all of the problems with your camper, you will be ready for the next new one. Good Luck and happy camping.

I feel your pain. The first camper we had was a Flagstaff popup. On the first outing, the cassette toilet leaked. So, I didn't have hot water on the floor. Oh no... I had urine all over the floor. The wood in the cabinets soaked it up like a sponge and swelled. I took it back to the dealer and it got "repaired" and on the next few trips it did it again. Then the power winch was recalled. Dude, It is always something. All campers have some kind of issues. That is where the dealer steps in and makes the RV experience a little better. I had mine at the dealer this morning. They put me at the top of the list, fixed it up and had me on my way. You will eventually get all the issues worked out and it will be a thing of the past. Enjoy the lifestyle that only a camper gives. Hang in there, It will get better.

By the way, that is a nice floor plan.

I have to knock on fake wood and be thankful that nothing major has gone wrong with mine thus far......just the metal brackets cracked which hold the dinette. For $12, I fixed it myself...lol

Happy camping and hopefully you get all the little bugs worked out

so far on our 2008 LE wildwood 29bhbs

dinette support brackets pulled out of tubing, new one ordered from factory

last trip, water heater started acting up, blew hot steaming water out pressure relief, probably a thermostat problem, will be fixed under warranty

the small spring loaded hold clips on the outside that hold open the storage cabinet doors break, i have one broke now

already observe bad rusting of bolts

need to add memory foam as cushion on the beds, they dont offer much support

we are making improvements and are happy with it so far

all other systems working so far and we have used most all of them. we knew it wasnt the high end tt but we liked the layout, and it is all or more than we ever need, we are very thankful for it

I hope things get better from here. We had a few little problems too, water line to kitchen sink leaked (not tight) the fm band on the stereo didn't work. All small stuff. They just slap these units together so fast. Good luck with the rest of your trips.

Anyway are new rig has been as good as expected every thing works and has been fun even with the first four excursions raining one day at least.
