Ladder Backer Placement Diagram

For those who do not have a ladder on their RV/Trailer and are wanting to add one, I asked for and received the ladder backer placement diagram for all Salem and Wildwood models.

I used it and installed a ladder on the back of our 30QBSS with no problem.

And thank you to Wayne Bilger for his fast response in this.

I guess the drawing represents the back wall of the camper and the right hand side goes up?

I also have a ladder backer PDF print for my rig.
In fairly fine print down in the corner where they put the print # and
draftsman's name date etc it says
"as viewed from inside".
Do be careful and make SURE you know what you're really looking at
before you grab that drill!

Yes, this is as if you are standing behind the camper looking at the back of it. I measured from the bottom up. You can also push on the outside siding and feel the 2X6 backers to be sure before drilling.

Consider yourself fortunate. Keystone Cougar Trailers no longer come with a OEM ladder option. Because they are cutting as much weight as possible on their new trailers they do not offer a ladder. Was told by a factory man the roof is NOT reinforced enough to walk on without using a wide board to distribute the weight evenly.
Rockwoods do have a strong roof and ladder option.

I also got the framing diagrams from FR on my Coachman and they all clearly state "Viewed From Inside" as in inside the RV looking at the wall. Be careful !!!!!!!!
