Question Mattress and clearance in 272 and 282 Hemi's

What's everyone doing to improve comfort and clearance for mattress and dresser? 75" puts the Mattress pretty close to dresser. In addition mattress is terrible. We threw the original mattress away and are currently using the blow up from the sofa. Anyone found a good mattress, of any kind that's maybe only 73" long? Looking for a good solution. May have to live with the 75". We obviously should have paid more attention before purchasing, especially since having owned 5 prior we ain't exactly rookies. Dummies yes. But too late now. However, we do love everything else about the unit.

We put a foam topper on top of our mattress and it is real comfy. It does hang over the end by two inches but we scoot between it and the dresser. We don't spend much time in the bedroom so its not an issue.
