Moving on up

First post but have been lurking for a couple months. Traded in a 14 Shasta Oasis 21 ck on a used 14 Salem 27 RKSS Friday. DW said we needed more room, she was right as usual. She had wanted a rear living room layout but once I actually got her to put down the laptop and go walk around one it was a done deal in about 30 seconds. Love the kitchen counter top space and the large slide. Cleaned it out yesterday and got our stuff put up in it. Will go out next weekend to Seminole State Park for a test run. Still need to get the WD hitch adjusted correctly. The tech at Camping World did not have enough weight on the front of the truck. Thinking about up grading the hitch to something more than the friction control sway bar. Or at least adding another to the left side.

That is all for now from North Florida.

Good morning and welcome to the site from SW Idaho.

Can not help with the hitch very much but I'm sure there are people who can but are still asleep.....

Congratulations on your new unit! Is it a Hemisphere or other? We live in north Florida and know there are so many places to go. We are awaiting delivery on our Hemisphere 263RL. After searching to make reservations we are realizing that during our beautiful camping months there are no available campsites because of all the snowbirds. That is frustrating because we work full time and cannot schedule our weekend trips that far out. Other events in life come up gradually over time. They are not scheduled a year out. I'm not even sure if the campgrounds would schedule for a weekend a year out. They probably would say that they don't have availability because they know they will have long term snowbirds wanting that site.

It is the base Salem 27RKSS. We usually camp at the Georgia State Park on Lake Seminole or go up to FDR near Callway Gardens. I know in Georgia you can make reservations 364 days in advance. Don't know about Florida, though we will go to Three Rivers State Park in a month or two.

Congratulations! And Welcome. We love the layout of our Hemi 282 Rk. This layout has a cozy cabin-ish feel. Waiting for our CG to open in a couple weeks.

Congrats on the new trailer. The best way to dial in a WD system is to read the manual and to it yourself!

We love the floor plan of the 27RKSS. We also bought a brand new 2014 last March. You can look up my post to see some of the problems we have had. I think the problems are just our trailer. I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing anything like it. Hope you have a great time in your new RV!
