Need a solution for hot pantry

We have a hemisphere 302FK, love the front kitchen but there seems to be no insulation on the front fiberglass cap which leads to a very hot pantry in the summer especially when sitting in the sun. Earlier this spring even with very mild temps we ended up with melted hershey bars. Anyone have ideas on how we could insulate it?

We have a similar problem but are door is located on the side wall along side of frig. We have thought about adding or making a louvered door and maybe add a small batt operated fan to exit the warm air. You might be able to do the same. This is in progress now. Later RJD

Keep me posted on your mod and how it works out. Ive thought about getting some kind of insulating blanket and attatch it to the pantry wall. Our pantry is right up front the fiberglass cap absorbs heat transfers it into the pantry and cabinets in a the front of the camper.

Cut in a vent, use a computer power supply fan wired to a manual RV thermostat mounted in the pantry.

You have the optional heated pantry option. Just throw the switch to "summer" and you should be good to go.

I personally wouldn't take a chance with my Hershey bars... keep them in the fridge.

Seriously, the walls are very slightly insulated and with the cabinet closed, it builds up heat... mine too.

I bet you could add some kind of decent looking vents to the top of the pantry door... I assume the bottom has a large gap towards the floor... and what I would do (or also do), is to cover the back walls of any or all cabinets with Reflectix insulation. Cut to fit and staple up. I used it on my floors and cover windows. It blocks nearly all the light and most of the heat. If you aren't sure what this is, here's the product offered by Lowes. It comes in various widths and lengths.

Good idea I have considered some sort of insulating blakent on the walls. You can touch the walls and feel the heat, maybe a combination of thin insulation and venting might work.

Similar issue with our pantry. I think it may be warm because of the refrigerator.

Any update/results regarding the fan install?
