Need advice on a 2012 Salem 27DBUD

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. The wife and i now own a Shamrock 21ss hybrid and are going to be getting a new trailer for this up coming season. We are very interested in the 2012 Salem 27Dbud and was wondering if anyone has experience with this trailer or one that is similar? I will admit i am also looking at a 2012 Keystone Passport 2650Bh with a similar interior but not quite as nice compared to the interior on the Salem. I have just always loved the look of the Smooth fiberglass over the rippled aluminum exterior. But I'm starting to think i can live with the aluminum sides since i will be spending most of my time inside rather than out! . The dry weight on the Salem is about 1300lbs heavier than the Passport and was also wondering if that is just because it is built stronger with better materials?? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Kevin

EcobootsKev, I moved this thread to the Salem section from General Discussion, and deleted the other identical thread you started in Towing....only 1 thread is needed on a particular subject.

BTW.....welcome to the forum.

Wife and I just purchased our 2009 Salem 292fkds at the end of October and haven't been able to use it yet! I did pull it home, was not happy with the handling without the WDH, and took it back to the dealer 2 weeks ago to have the WDH installed. If you don't have one, you're going to want one. Other than that, we both love the floor plan and all, and it's finally going for it's maiden overnight trip next weekend. So I guess I can give you a better report after that. In the meantime, welcome to the forums and to the Salem family...
