Hello I am thinking of buying a 2004 Forest River SALEM 32BHSS, but I have heard mixed reviews about satisfation with workmanship and quality on the forrest river RV's, Does anyone have any advice for me?

Well I wouldn't go THAT far! but the quality is fair for the price point... And if you look at 2008s it is much better! but we have a 2005 and while we love it, I must admit there are a few weaknesses that show up in the Salem line... none that are crippling or that would prevent me from recommending it, but just check it over well. and shop around a bit for 2004s of other makes; considering price, if your's is well taken care of, you should see it as a good value. Besides you get to be officially in this cool website and the member with the highest post count will personally come out and wax your unit for you!!

We love our 04 Flagstaff

All brands can have problems/lemons but ours has been fantastic!

Oh yes

Any brand INSPECT!!!! closely, PDI for hours is worth the time spent before pulling of the lot

We are very pleased with our 2004 Flagstaff so far but, as with anything like a travel trailer, be sure to inspect everything you can thoroughly. You need to do that whether it is new off the lot or used. Since you are looking at a used model, be sure to check all of the various systems on it to be sure they are in working order before buying.

As Mike said, all brands have their lemons and FR has their share. Just remember that the guy who had the unfortunate luck to get one is the one that yells the loudest about how sorry the product and company is, even though his was one of only a very small percentage of final product.

I've got a 2008 Salem.
I have to tell you...I haven't found many issues at all. Every travel trailer I've purchased...was brand new. Each one had problems, some were MAJOR. Once the issues were worked out, the trailers were great.

I agree. They all have their own specific issues, but overall (so far)...this is by far much higher in build quality/owner satisfaction than my 2 previous trailers. (Palomino & Keystone Outback...both of which I loved)

My brother in law owns a Salem, which I believe is a 2002. The biggest issue he's had is the linoleum cracked in cold weather. (can happen with any)

We could all own the exact same trailer....and have completely different stories, however.
