Recent 2k Mile Trip with 282RK - How Many Problems?

This unit is great. Seriously the only issues we have had is the radio remote is missing and the spare tire carrier was missing a bolt. I highly recommend giving the Salem line a look.

Have did any mods to it so far that might make things easier that you can share?

No real serious mods yet. I did install a battery disconnect switch on the side of the battery box to use when the TT is in storage. Otherwise the battery goes dead in about two weeks from the ancillary devices in the TT.

We also put a foam topper on the mattress. That thing is hard!

An upcoming mod will be to install doors on the TV hutch in the bedroom. The cabinet doors under the TV in the "den" are the perfect size to cover the hutch in the bedroom and our dealer said he can order them from FR. We don't use a TV in there, so I will install shelves and the doors to cover them. This will provide more bedroom storage.

I have a Salem Hemishere 312QBUD and we have also had no issues out of ours. We did the foam mattress topper too!

Teamfour, There is something white under your camper to the right of the door, just wondering what it is?

I noticed the firm mattress when we were looking at new ones. The cabinets in the bedroom is a good idea if you need the storage.

Also I am 6'1 and my feet hang off the end of the bed. I think I might have a fix for that. When we get our camper I will post up what I do.

That is a 5x5 plastic fence post that I mounted to hold 25' of sewer hose. Search for fence post storage and you will find quite a bit of info. It is a great solution for getting the sewer hoses out of the pass-through compartment.

Yup that's what I thought. I have been reading about them. Just wasn't sure why at that position.
Although I guess it's convenient to where the black water tank valve is on the other side.

Could you post some pics of what and how you mounted it on yours.

Oh and what are doing about hooking up the gray water hose at the rear to the black water hose at the front?

On the rear grey water drain hose: we have a sewer hose Y connector that allows us to run sewer hoses from the forward and rear connections to the Y to the drain. However this is only worth doing for real long stays. It is easier really to just dump the black, the forward grey, then move the hose and dump the rear grey.

On the hose connections that is the only thing I could think of doing also. I just hated the thought of having to deal with 2 hoses also.

I have been trying to get all the info I can prior to to getting the TT. I am going to be pushed for time on getting mods done before we leave for a week of vacation. I figured if I can get all this worked out now then when I get it home hopefully it will be less time doing the mods.

I appreciate the info and if there is anything you can think of that would be good to add or change post it up.

I was out for a week and had little to no issues until I goto leave and the slide jerks towards the front and jambs into the tv cupboard. It breaks the crown molding. Then I slide it out and muscle it back to where it needs to be. Then I get it to the dealer to get it fixed then we slid the slide out and apparently a rock got under the carpet and scared the floor linoleum not sure if they will warrenty in the floor or not, dealer said they will glue it for now and get a floor expert to patch it in the fall....question now is to live with it or have it cut and patched....

Teamfour, what is the overall length of your 282rk?

FR list length as 35ft but I don't know if that is overall length (tongue to rear bumper) or the living area.
